Greetings to all of you,

I had a few things to catch up on when I got back home. The preg checking of my heifers had been waiting until the conference was over. Iâ€™m sorry we were not able to provide better weather for the attendees but I have certainly enjoyed the nice weather the past couple of days to do my work.

As I look back at the recent Grassfed Exchange conference held in Norfolk NE this past week, I just want to thank all the people who helped me make this event possible. My mentor and friend Terry Gompert was missed by all of us but we know he would want us to carry on and continue to provide a venue by which we all can learn more about the Grassfed industry.

From the evaluation sheets that were turned in we definitely did make quite an impression on most people and it seems that most all who attended were very pleased with what they learned and what they saw. I would like to thank all of you who did attend and I do hope you went home excited about the future of the Grassfed Industry. We wanted you to feel like it was very worthwhile to have taken the time to attend. I realize it sure is not easy to take three days to be away from home and many of the attendees had a day of travel each way on top of that.

We on the committee were very excited about the fact that we had people attend from such a large geographic area. There were over 200 persons from twenty-six states and Canada represented at the conference. The interest in the speakers was tremendous shown by the number of questions that each speaker generated. We had tried to allow time for a lot of networking amongst the participants because of the variety of locations that people had come from. I believe all felt this was one of the things that was very important to each one of them. The desire to learn about how to improve upon what we are doing was clearly evident as was the ability to comprehend what the speakers had to share.

I felt humbled by the stories that each attendee had to tell. We may not be large in numbers but we have a group of producers and educators that are the best in the country. I felt such a willingness to share with one another in an unselfish way by every one I talked with. This is truly a very special group of producers. We are a group of people who are committed to the healing of our soils, our plants, our animals, and ultimately providing a healthier alternative to our customers.

For those of you that missed the conference you missed a great opportunity to share with people of like mind. For those of you who attended, use the knowledge you gained and share it with a neighbor and encourage them to come along with you next year. We will be setting the date very soon and we are already planning how we can make it a better event. We are at this time, planning on having it in Norfolk, NE again next year. It will be a similar time of year but the exact dates are not yet available.

We are going to start getting assistance to write a weekly update or comment for our web site (let us know if you would like to write an article or update for the industry) and hope you will come back and visit us often. Let us know your wants and hopes for future events.
